We had 2 separate jobs done by Certain Services and were both done quickly and solid. Corey installed a new water heater for us and the cost was average in our area. On a separate day we asked for Cody and he redid the plumbing under our kitchen sink and replace our rusting sink drain/strainer.... He did it in just over an hour and the price was very reasonable in my opinion. He was pleasant and explained things in an easy to understand format. Where do I even begin. What a great experience with a family owned local company. I originally had big name water companies coming out but decided to take a chance on a local company that had a much superior product. Kelly set up my appointments and kept me informed throughout the whole process.... Trevor came out and spent time testing out our water and walked us through the products they offered being careful not to over sell us products we don’t need. There was absolutely no pressure in making a decision to “sign today or we can’t hold the price” like other competitors. Trevor gave us 60 days to think it over and we knew by the next day Certain was the company we wanted to work with. Brian came out to install our water softener and RO system and from start to finish worked with my wife and I to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted and even suggested tips and tricks for us. We had our well pipe burst on Wednesday after 6pm, panicking I didn’t know who to call, I searched in the area and found Certain Services. The after hours answering service was quick and extremely easy to talk to. Knowing it was valentines Day and most people are out, I didn’t expect a call so... quick from their technician. Brian was able to help me on the phone get my water turned off and told me his boots just needed tied and he would be right there. Shortly after, he showed up ready to work. It had already started to get dark so we knew time was limited. He was able find the issue, work fast, and unfortunately due to it being to dark he wasn’t able to finish that night. Thankfully he retuned first thing in the morning and fixed us right up! We are very impressed with his time, ability, and commitment to making sure this was taken care of and fast! If you need a service that has quality customer service, fair prices, and one of the best techs out in the field, I say give them a call because they made sure we were fully taken care of in an extremely vulnerable situation.read more

Hardness Minerals
What it is - hard water contains calcium and magnesium minerals which bond with everything they touch leaving "limescale" in their wake.

Treatment – Our guaranteed water softener provides the best option for soft water on the market. It improves the water throughout your entire home while protecting your appliances and fixtures.

Iron

What it is - Iron can come in a couple different forms including dissolved and non-dissolved. Both of which can leave red/orange stains on your sinks, tubs, and toilets and can be extremely hard to remove. Iron can also cause bacteria to grow and let off an unpleasant smell. Chlorine

What it is - Chlorine is a chemical used by municipal & local water treatment plants to reduce harmful bacteria in the water supply. While this sounds good, chlorine and chloramines can cause a bacteria of their own to grow called trihalomethanes (TTHM) which is quite unsafe to drink or bathe in.

Treatment – The most efficient Chlorine reduction filter is Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) or Catalytic Carbon. Due to the high level of chlorine added to water by cities, you will really appreciate your water with chlorine reduction. See our Whole House Filtration page for more information.

Dirt & Sediment

What it is - dirt & sediment is just as it sounds. This is typically most common in well water or surface water that hasn't gone through a treatment facility.

Treatment – Dirt and sediment are found in almost all water supplies and will decrease the efficiency and lifespan of your appliances. For example, sediment in a water heater can prevent the heat from transferring to the water in the tank once sediment has built up in the bottom. Smelly Water (Hydrogen Sulfide or Iron Bacteria)

There are typically two water contaminants that can cause your water to smell like sulfur or rotten eggs, one is Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and the other is iron or sulfates.

H2S is a mineral that is released from the earth and finds its way into groundwater. It’s especially common in well water located near shale, sandstone, coal, peat, or oil.

Occasionally, a rotten-egg smell in your water could also be caused by a water heater or by sewage pollution in your water. If you’re on city water, the most likely explanation is your water heater.

The most important thing to note is that it is ALWAYS worthwhile to get your water tested as H2S poses a serious potential health risk including nausea, vomiting, and other serious health effects.

PFAS, Lead, & Cyst

Water in our area has frequently been positive for lead, cysts, and PFOA/PFOS. These chemicals have been found to exceed the levels set forth by health advisory organizations and may cause health problems.

The chemicals Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), also known as C8, and Perfluorooctane Sulfonic acid (PFOS) are bio-permanent, resistant to direct oxidation, and do not break down naturally in the environment or the human body. Studies suggest that exposure to these chemicals may lead to cancer.

Chromium 6

A new study by the Environmental Working Group reports that local drinking water contains hexavalent chromium, a toxic metal that has been linked to cancer. While the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency does not require the testing for the metal, the survey found that levels in our local water were pushing the levels proposed as a safety limit by authorities. This contaminant has been proven to cause cancer. Arsenic is a common water issue in Florida, however, it can be easily and affordably removed with an under-sink filter from Certain Services, Inc..

According to the CDC, “Arsenic can enter the water supply from natural deposits in the earth or from industrial and agricultural pollution. It is widely believed that naturally occurring arsenic dissolves out of certain rock formations when ground water levels drop significantly. Some industries in the United States release thousands of pounds of arsenic into the environment every year. Once released, arsenic remains in the environment for a long time. Arsenic is removed from the air by rain, snow, and gradual settling. Once on the ground or in surface water, arsenic can slowly enter groundwater. We had a great experience from start to finish. The entire staff is wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable on their products. Kelly was the first person I had contact with and she sent a very thorough email and went over a lot of things to get the ball rolling. When we wanted to add softened water and an RO system to our condo, we spoke with 3 possible companies. Trevor came to my place and checked the water quality, was timely, knowledgeable, informative and a pleasure to deal with.He arranged installation by Joe who was skilled, thoughtful, punctual,... clean, and most concerned about a neat and well run install. Joe was excellent! It was great to reach someone on the phone first try (as several other companies I left messages with didn’t even call back) and schedule next day appt. The service technician (Joe - really seemed like a plumbing service expert) He explained everything and completely cleaned up from cutting into... the drywall. We had our well pipe burst on Wednesday after 6pm, panicking I didn’t know who to call, I searched in the area and found Certain Services. The after hours answering service was quick and extremely easy to talk to. Knowing it was valentines Day and most people are out, I didn’t expect a call so... quick from their technician. Brian was able to help me on the phone get my water turned off and told me his boots just needed tied and he would be right there. Shortly after, he showed up ready to work. It had already started to get dark so we knew time was limited. He was able find the issue, work fast, and unfortunately due to it being to dark he wasn’t able to finish that night. Thankfully he retuned first thing in the morning and fixed us right up! We are very impressed with his time, ability, and commitment to making sure this was taken care of and fast! If you need a service that has quality customer service, fair prices, and one of the best techs out in the field, I say give them a call because they made sure we were fully taken care of in an extremely vulnerable situation.read more

Certain Services deserves 10 stars!!! Bill Certain did a very thorough job of testing our well water and explaining why a whole house reverse osmosis (RO) system was the best way to produce pure drinking water. Other companies just wanted to buy their water treatment systems, even if it left a... lot of total dissolved solids in our water. We are so happy with our new RO system, and the honesty, integrity, and professionalism of Bill Certain and his service and office teams! The "Certain Care" monthly service has given us peace of mind and is inexpensive compared with other companies. Certain Services is the BEST!read more

First, Mark analyzed our water quality and in a very simply and thorough way, described the problems in detail along with the options we had.  From there we made an informed decision on what model fit our water needs and finances. The actual installation took place a few days later and was done very professionally and tidy. The technician explained how the equipment worked and answered all of my questions.
